AWICS Corporate Sponsors
AWICS relies on outside sponsors to support many of its activities.
For example, the AWICS Distinguished Lecture requires funds for
the speaker's travel expenses and an honorarium, and
the AWICS PRESENTS seminar series features
external speakers and utilizes financial support from interested
corporate sponsors.
Once again, Microsoft's
generous funding, along with scholarships from the conference,
helped us send TWENTY FOUR undergraduate and graudate students to the
Grace Hopper Celebration of
Women in Computing Conference 2002 which was held in Vancouver, BC.
Other groups may have tried to beat us in number, but
we still outranked as by far the largest group there!
Microsoft's
generous funding, combined with scholarships from the conference,
enabled us to bring a group of TWENTY FOUR to the
Grace Hopper Celebration of
Women in Computing Conference which was held in Hyannis, MA
in September 2000. We had a blast - and were the biggest group
there!
Motorola has sponsored
the AWICS Distinguished Lecturer Series
since the 1997-1998 academic year.
AWICS has been supported financially
by
Exxon (1997),
Hewlett Packard (1996-1999),
Lockheed Martin (2000),
Andersen Consulting (1997),
and
Shell Services Company (1997).
Hewlett-Packard has also generously contributed equipment
and other general support for our activities.
Shell Services Company, Exxon Computing Services, and Texas Instruments
contributed speakers to the AWICS PRESENTS seminar series.
AWICS is very grateful for the support of the above mentioned
companies.
